The Planet Voyagers - Analysis
Vision
According to Frank Koellges, the Planet Voyagers want to protect people
from the consequences of a forced farewell to traditional ways of living
and working. The Planet Voyagers tool is a "food machine",
i. e. the good match between peoples personalities and talents and
the successful use of both.
The Planet Voyagers promote the development of individual talents as
well as mobility and the willingness to travel. By developing personal
skills at an early age every human being is able to create their own "food
machine", which enables them to use their own talents efficiently
in various cultures in order to escape structural unemployment.
The University
The Planet Voyagers will travel on a modified container ship, which will
serve as a university. The masters will be recruited from the technical
(20 per cent), scientific (30 per cent) and artistic area (50 per cent)
and are going to transform the university into an information pool, which
can later be used to provide teaching material for schools, for example.
There will be a cultural exchange on the ship favoured by the different
workshops where the masters teach and, in turn, can learn from other masters.
The masters will leave the ship together with their groups to go on trips
in the various countries by trucks and rickshas that are equipped with
high-tech installations. By doing so, the Planet Voyagers will be able
to demonstrate their food machines.
Planet Voyager Casting
The Planet Voyagers will be recruited at international level. The preparation
course for the crew will take six months in order to ensure the best possible
preparation for the trip. The training should, above all, help the planet
voyagers to develop their own "food machine" and artistic skills,
train body and mind, learn how to react in cases of emergency and develop
specific behaviour patterns in different cultures.
Financing
For the 10-year trip (which will start in 2002) 100 Mio Euro are needed,
which will be held in a foundation.
Patronage
We would like to find patrons for the project. The realisation of the
Planet Voyagers vision will attract widespread media attention and
could be achieved more efficiently with a patronage.
Communication and Marketing
Co-operation with the local press (newspapers, television, radio) and
the national news services and TV stations as well as live documentation
via Internet
Communications should be adapted to the aims of the patrons
